1968 Canadian built F-Eighty Five

I was wondering how rare a 1968 Canadian built F-eighty five is. I cant find alot of info about them and I know where one is at that might be worth getting ahold of. It does not have the engine or tranny but it has pedals for a maual transmision in it. its pretty much complete but it does have some rust.

I would appreciate any info that I can get.

Thanks.

not sure..

gaerte, I think the fellas would probably need more info, maybe some info from the body tag to say what options are on the car, it could be one of those cars that was ordered for racing with a ramrod and a 4 speed , or it could be the very base model with a six and three on the tree..

but I just wanted to write NOT to buy a car because you are looking for resale value, because it's rare etc without the original motor and tranny stratospheric prices on return will not happen. Buy a car because you love it, the style, the performance whatever, because once the restoration starts it is a labor of love, very little chance your going to get a good return on your money if any at all.

if you want an investment then find a correct car, with documents etc and then maybe go about getting all the small items that are missing and improving them, that saisd a 68 f-85 is a cool car, no motor or tranny means there is room for a 455 and a 4 speed or maybe a high ( for an olds) winding 350 and a 6 speed... yummy!!

Thanks Eddie for the reply,

I went and looked it over today and I dont think it is worth repairing. I am going to grab as many parts that I can off of it just to keep around. The car looks like it is a pretty standerd model with three on the tree and the body needs to much work.

Thanks,

Those F-85 Fender emblems are worth 50 bucks at least. They were 68-69 only.

I didn't say anything because although I know they exist, I have never seen one around here and never owned any!!

A-body cars were built in Canada for many years. My first 442 (a 1968) was a Canadian-built car. If the rest of the car is trashed, the one part to get is the rear axle, which should be a real Chevy 12-bolt, not a Type O with 12 bolts on the cover but only ten on the ring gear.
