1968 442 with giant spoiler?
Took my car out to Biff Buzby cruise night and i was talking to a guy and he said that his buddy has a 68 442 with basically the mopar spoiler on it. Then he proceeded to tell me that was built with that on it and that there was only 2 made.... is this true or is someone waving the BS flag!

Ran into the guy today on my ride home. He claims this is 1 of 30 cars that were made and it came factory with the wing.
Its like an Indy edition with the Hurst/Olds package(but just the scoop)

Tom, get your car as far away as possible before the ghetto mod crew takes over and jacks up your ride! That is some spoiler...and look at the HID's where the bug shield would be...man, they sure were looking ahead when they built that one.
"442 Indy Special Edition 442" - if you have to have a sign on your car to tell everyone what it is, then it isn't.
You should've ask him if he's got family in the area that you can call...he needs to get back to the old folks home ASAP!

OH come on guys! Am I the only one that knows the history of these cars?! They were made specially to chase the wild Jackalope. Back in 69, there was a great Jackalope infestation. They stole all the blinker fluid from detroit as well as the midwest's supply of muffler bearings! They rounded up all the cars after the Jackalope were killed and they are stored in Area 51 with all the other space ships. This is a rare but true sighting just like the UFOs that fly around.

WOW!! Somebody sold him a real line of CRAP!
Or, he's been telling that story for so long, he believes it himself!
Tell him you looked into it, and the other 29 were destroyed in car washes, and they also had the extended hood and bumper, for aerodynamics!
And he didn't get the 442 cutouts for the same reason!

OMG you could hang your laundry on there while your heading down I75 ! be dry in no time !or you could put a swingin chair for the kids to keep them occupied while ya cruise the streets looking for Pinto's and AMC Pacer's to race!

No, the wing in this picture looks moderately stable and professionally crafted. The wing Tom posted looks more like one made out of particle board and zip ties skillfully crafted by the Hunchback of All-be-Damned while he was "drankin a foe-ty" and smokin the dolja!

Is there any chance that there was once a platform on the deck lid? I can almost see a race track or special event like a Gran Prix buying a 442 convertible and having it customized or "ordered special" for them. The drivers or pretty sponsor ladys could have stood on the platform during introductions.
The rest of the odd ball customizations I will not comment. My mommy taught me to be polite. I think he's full of something, hopefully just hot air .

Adam, who was the model who did the Hurst stuff back then? She looks ummm pretty dang hot!
BTW, came up with a suggested name for that 'ultra spoiler' on the black 442. I think I'll call it the 'Wail Tale'.

The Wail Tail has me wailing from the headaches it causes.
Vaughan! That's it, she is Stevie Ray Vaughan's sister!
Cheers!

LOL, thanks guys. I just wasn't sure if Hurst went with a different model after they didn't get MOPAR support. She sure has a nice set of ...... eyes. Yeah, and boots. Hmmm, Body by Vaughn may have influenced some very curvy Oldsmobiles...

This is the closest Olds ever got to something that retarded looking in 69
As far as Linda, she is one of the sweetest southern gals you'd want to meet. She has a remarkable memory and you can tell by talking to her she cherishes all the experiences she's been able to put in her scrapbooks because of her stint as Miss Golden Shifter.

OMG!
That poor car. Did you have to post a picture!!! I know we LOVE pictures, BUT my eyes are still burning.
Allan, Allan, Allan!!! Who was that model ?? I can't believe you don't know who she is.
Sorry 3 points off your Oldsmobile mechanic of the year score card. Back to 4th place. Gonna take a LOT of quality posts to get back to where you were? Start taking something apart and post picture , gonna need at least 6 good threads.
Arodenhiser almost blew it but got a great save at the end. Now if he had spelled her name right he would have moved up one notch.

Sorry Mike. I have no excuse. I guess I'll have to start working on those 'quality' threads you're looking for. Hmmm, I sense a disturbance in the Force coming on.....

That looks horrible. I wouldn't want it even if it was legit and super rare
