1966 tripower value
1966 tripower value
What is a fair price for a complete/functional tri power setup. Intake, carbs, lines, fuel bowl, etc.?
Not looking to sell one but possibly purchase. It is on a running/driving car.
Just a ballpark will be fine.
Thanks in advance.

Certainly wouldn't sell mine for $2500. don't know what it would take, a lot more! There were only 2999 or 3001 made (BRO442), some say as little as 2199, I don't know but not many. You have to have a want and a use and then I'm guessing it's quite valuable, but it's always what the maket will pay and how long your willing to wait.

A TriPower is Pontiac, a TriCarb is Olds. I presume you mean Olds? Not a big deal, but since this is an Olds forum, Olds-speak would be appropriate.
Well the first Oldsmobile 1957-58 tri-power was termed 'Triple Power Pack' commonly shortened to tri-power then and since, so it actually is found in the less then worthy pre-1964 Cutlass Oldsmobile vernacular.
You will find a 1966 3X2 manifold and carbs for ±$2500 with diligent looking and ready fast cash, I did. It will be a miracle if any is found today in unrestored condition with intact carbs, linkage, fuel lines and filter/clamp assy for that money, but they are lately more available then ever in varying condition and completeness thanks primarily to ebay. Air cleaner? good luck.

If Norm were still around you would really be offended and would have blasted you. I think calling the Olds "tri-power" was one of the things that was the most upsetting to him and there were many things upsetting to him. I think most of us grew up calling them tri-power whether they were on an Olds. Pontiac or Chevy.
And though unlikely, since this site allows non-olds content, the poster could have meant a Pontiac unit. Thus a function reason not to use tripower term. It is not a matter of being cool.
