Help!!!! the kickdown switch has been replaced with n.o.s. switch. The solenoid reads 38 ohms. The kickdown puts out 12 volts to the solenoid but there is no down shift from the tmansmission. What am i missing ???? THANKS Jute

Couple things to look at.
You need to make sure you got the correct TORONADO switch, and that it is adjusted correctly per the procedure in the 1966 Chassis Service Manual.
There are four different 1965-67 kickdown switches. A standard service and a trailer towing option switch for Toronado only, and the same for all except Toronado.
Also make sure the wires are plugged into the correct terminals on the switch. One set is electric downshift and the other controls the torque converter stator angle.
Then make sure the downshift solenoid wiring is plugged into the transmission. If all this checks out, odds are you have a bad downshift solenoid in the transmission itself. It's common to all THM 425 transmissions and I think it can be replaced by dropping the pan.
