1965 f85 Headers

Has anyone ever tried to install a set of 1972 small block Olds Headman headers in a 330 65 f85? I'm just wondering if I'd even have a chance of them fitting at all. Seems like the steering box & shaft configuration might be the biggest obstacle.

The biggest obstacle is the fact that the frame is about 1.5" narrower there than on the 68-72 cars. Every header manufacturer routes tubes differently, so some brands of headers fit the early cars better than others. Everyone used to make headers for this application 30-40 years ago, but the market for them is too small to warrant making them today.

Thanks for the info Joe, I was hoping you might answer. I've got our two 65 4-speed wagons and we're thinking about taking one to the Roadkill Zip Tie Drags just for fun. The one that's in the best shape to run at Zip Tie could use a new exhaust system so we were thinking about pulling the current manifolds and duals and putting a set of headers on to get it going. I found a set of Headman's locally for $40 that the guy had on his 72 350 Cutlass. I don't see the point in spending big money for a new set to fit the 65 because I'm fine with the manifolds but I'd put a set of cheap headers in for this if we could get them to fit.

Not sure if this helps you but have a set of Headman headers in my '65 442 with a big block. Been installed long time so I do not remember the part number.
