1964 442 power steering fluid

What type of fluid should I use in my 1964 442 power steering? The filler cap calls for Type A transmission fluid.

You can use the same transmission fluid that you use in your transmission or power steering fluid. I use plain old power steering fluid found in any parts store.

I can still find Type A trans fluid around here. I thought the stuff went extinct decades ago, so I was surprised to see it.

"I" would buy power steering fluid at any parts store, or even the automotive section of hardware stores. Modern ATF is a lot different than the ancient Type A.

Regards,
I had to research FA fluid. I'd never heard of it before reading your post.

Got it from NAPA, guess it's a modern version of type F from what I understand

I'm sure folks have.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy power steering fluid, so you know you're not screwing anything up with friction modifiers or incorrect viscosity?
