I just picked up a 64 442. It has most of the original parts including the air cleaner. It is a post car without a console. I will post picks when i get it home and in the shop.

The car is solid, needs a patch panel drivers side lower quarter panel behind rear wheel. I still have to go through everything in the trunk but all the trim is there and looks to be in good shape. It is missing the front bumper though so i have to find 1of those. I will post pics pics tomorrow. The old owner mentioned it was 1 of 120ish so i will post up the tags to see what we can find out.
super cool project and so iconic, good luck with your car, i bought a 64 442 convertible 30 years ago , somebody started to chevy/fy it it is missing engine, trans, shifter, anything under the hood, had the car in storage till 2 months ago, hopefully next year i can start putting the car back together, i have collect several parts over the years , still missing a few items , (alot) of items
It came up for sale on facebook market place. My buddy sent me the listing when it popped up. We were on the road within hours of it listing. The car has been in Kentucky since new.
Oldsmoboggie: The front bumpers and brackets are easy to source. The hard find is the parking/turn signal light housings, especially the lenses- the passenger side being the hardest to locate. If your needing to replace the back up light those are also 1 year only as with the front. However after some homework I located on E-Bay a brand new, still in the box GM Guide back up light housings with the lenses for a Buick Skylark wagon-same part number! I forgot what years- I think 65-67??

I finally got a chance to go through the trunk. All of the parts are there except the starter and valve covers. There is also a couple gasket kits, carb rebuild kit, plug wires and u joints. The clutch is in great shape as is the pressure plate. In the glovebox i found a cam card and a offenhouser intake installation paperwork. The exhaust has a homemade cutout installed.
I've got three or four 1964 330's. When the time comes if you want a set of original style valve covers I can help. If you want the correct starter I can check to see if any I have are the right date code for your car.

I am looking for a body shop currently. I’m waiting for weather to break to get it out of the shop to pressure wash the car. I am finishing up a few things to get my 56 on the road this spring right now. I hope to have the 64 washed and on the hoist to check it out further, then off to get quotes for new paint and the trim polished.
I pushed the car out of the shop to give it a bath but my brand new pressure washer isn’t working. I took some Brillo pads and the hose to her. It’s cleaning up some. I was hoping to get the car and engine pressure washed, I am wanting to tear down the 350 from my 72 to refresh and throw in it temporarily. Looks like I have to find a new pressure washer now. You can see the half of the trunk lid I did on the right compared to how I got the car on the left. I still have a lot of work to do.
Nice find,I also just found a 64 442 last week. I'm really a 65 442 guy, I have four right now, 2 Holiday Coupes, a Club Coupe and a Convertible but I couldn't pass on the 64 even though it needs a lot of work. Unfortunately one of the holiday coupes will need to be sold to fund the 64 and the club coupe.
Concerning your car, I believe the gentleman that sold you the car was right that your car is even more rare than one of the 563 Sport Coupes sold in 1964 and probably more rare than a Club Coupe which there were only 148 made. As most of us probably know you could order the B09 Police Interceptor Package on the F85 Club Coupe, Cutlass Sport Coupe, Cutlass Holiday Coupe series and the Convertible. Of course I'm not counting the 4 door option.
According to your firewall tag your car is a series 3127 which comes up as an F85 Deluxe and not a Cutlass. The series are listed as such:
Club Coupe - 3027 / Sport Coupe 3227 / Holiday Coupe 3237 / and Convertible 3267. Yours and the one I just bought are both series 3127 which again is listed as a 64 F85 Deluxe V-6 Sports Coupe, Now when I went to look at my 64 I took along a close friend Vinny who owned a 64 442 back in the 90's and currently runs the Starfire Forum but has always followed the 64's and 65's which he has owned both. So he is my 64 expert.
When we looked at the car we found everything we were looking for, front and rear HD stabilizer bars, 336 posi, dual snorkel air cleaner, 2L on the data tag for 4 speed, 330 4 bbl with number 1 heads, 442 emblems on the trunk and fenders but no where else, heavy duty frame, boxed control arms, adjustable holes for the trailing arms, dual exhaust hangers and a 4 speed. What threw us a little was the F85 deluxe interior, original bucket seats with cloth inserts and vinyl trim, and f85 deluxe door panels. But the car had Cutlass badges on the fenders and dash, Cutlass side trim, and the Cutlass tail panel. So was this a real 442, we thought so but were skeptical.
Since this was the original owner he presented the protecto plate, original bill of sale with the B09 option code, matching serial number to the car, finance documents, deposit receipt, all the original paperwork and more. He had magazines, JWO issues, and AMA specs for the 64 442. He was 23 years old when he bought it and is a young 79 years old now and he saved everything which I now have.
So here's the story, this is according to Keener in a 2017 thread, the Lansing factory was badging the 3127 series cars with the cloth insert interior and door panels as Cutlass Sports Coupes. They are not recognized as F85 Deluxe's. It was late in the production year, there were very few, these cars had the F85 Deluxe cloth insert interiors and vinyl trim seats, but everything else in the trim package was Cutlass. They are grouped in the 563 Sport Coupes sold for 64.
But there is more as to why I believe this. The owner had several letters from Dennis Urban, the 64 442 OCA Advisor who was well respected and built a knowledge base on the 64 442. These letters are late 80's and early 90's. One letter is from Dennis along with the original replacement cloth and vinyl material he obtained for the owner of my car which is the F85 deluxe interior material. He gave me the material rolls so I can refurbish the seats. Another letter from Dennis Urban dated January 1991 is a list of 50 1964 442's with the owners names, serial numbers, series style codes such as 3027, 3127, 3237, and 3267, Body code, Trim Code, ACC code for the 4 speed 2L,
Month and week of Build, Paint Code, Owners Names and Location, and a few comments.
So looking at the list of of 50 cars, there was 1 Club Coupe, 15 Convertibles, 26 Holiday Coupes, 7 Sport Coupes, and 1 without a series code. Of the 7 Sport Coupes, 6 were series 3127 so there are others and they are real 442's. I checked to see if your car was on the list but it's not.
Your trim code of 947 shows cloth and vinyl on the web site I checked. So your car may have come with F85 cloth inserts and vinyl trim. I think the right way to check this would be in the dealer sales book for 64 where they show the interiors and associated codes. I only have the 65 book. And I believe the only place you can get the orginal style interior material is SMS and that's big bucks. My 65 sport coupe was around $2,000 some time back.
So there is no way to know how many series 3127's were made but they are grouped in the 563 sport coupes. But then again how many 64 442's has anyone seen with the F85 deluxe interiors which are cloth and vinyl. I've only seen the Cutlass Vinyl seats and interior but again I've only seen a few 64's in my 50 years of looking at these cars. I thought the 65's 442's were difficult. The 64's are much more difficult it seems for parts and information.
I hope this catches your interest, again this is what I have found the past two weeks of researching the 64 442 so I'm not the expert but I'm pretty sure this is the way it was. And in Dennis's letter dated January 2, 1991 he says " It still amazes me that these cars are still showing up!" And it's still true today, you have to love these Oldsmobiles. By the way my car came with tons of parts so lets stay in touch as we try to restore these cars.

Bob
very interesting, do you have pics of your front seats with the cloth insert?
Yes I have one or two pictures. The car is about 50 miles away form my home, I'm just waiting out the current situation before I can move it. I'll try to post the pictures I have. When I bring the car home I'll be able to take better pictures.
1964 F85 Sports Coupe, Body style 3127 interior with morocceen bolsters and pattern cloth bottom and back. Also notice the buttons on the cloth sections.
Very unusual since that's really a F-85 deluxe interior. But yes that's the interior. It's a fully documented car from the original owner, series 3127.
It a sports coupe interior, whether its 3127 or 3227. The 3227 cars would have all vinyl, rather than cloth inners. Whereas, the 3127 could be all vinyl or cloth inner with vinyl bolster as shown in the photo.
