1950's Olds Rocket/Jet side mirrors
1950's Olds Rocket/Jet side mirrors
Ok I getting a little old and forgetful but not senile (yet)
So I'm cruising You tube looking for some 56 Olds info and I come across a video of a 56 Olds that has side mirrors that have Rockets/Jets on them exactly like the 56 Olds hood ornament only in miniature !! and the rockets appear to be mounted to the base ,I say to myself , self those are a bit much but they are kind cool, I went back to find the video so I could post it just as a matter of interest and to ask if anybody had ever seen them because I never have and I have seen a lot of 56 Olds video since purchasing my Olds but of course I cant find the video to save my life !! and I cant find anything like it on Google.
Has anybody else ever seen rocket side view mirrors ? I'm beginning to think they may have been custom made.

I've seen those but I think they were aftermarket. Outside rearview mirrors weren't legally required until late 60s so there were lots of aftermarket styles to choose from. 50s and 60s accessories were big on space-age themes so that's probably where the design came from.
