1950 Olds convertible for sale near me. Rough shape.

In low light & misty rain I caught about a 30 second glimpse of a '50? Olds convertible for sale today. It is in rough shape, will know more tomorrow. Anyone wanting parts or the whole car?
I think the price will be reasonable? What is one of these worth? Sorry no pictures as of right now but probably tomorrow.

Actually when I checked the car again, it is a '49, not a '50.

According to the Old Cars Price Guide, a '50 Olds convertible, whether it's a 76, an 88, or a 98, in parts car condition (#6), is worth between $1500 and $2000, depending, I'm sure, on the condition of the parts and how many are available. If it's non-running but restorable, the value makes a big jump to the $4000 to $5000 range.

Checked out the car again today and it is extremely rough. You might be able to get the convertible top components and the car does have power windows and a clock. And the engine is still there, along with the trans & the rearend. Pictures coming from my friend Dave who was with me. My phone/camera was about to die. Might be able to get it for $500.00-$800.00 just not sure anything is worth saving

Restored these cars are very pricey. You would be surprised what some guys will restore. This is one that is in an estate I am the executor of.

I checked the cowl tag yesterday & it is a '49. I bought another car the guy has & when I go to pick that one up, I'll get some better pix of this poor thing.

Here are a few more pix. It is a '49 for sure. Guy says bottom dollar is $600.00.

I don't know how to put up regular size pictures on here like my smart friend Dave. So here are the links to them. If someone wants to/can put them up, feel free.

He's nuts. The "car" is just this side of total rust. I see very few salvageable parts on it. He should be thrilled to have someone come and tow it away, and he should give the car to that person as thanks for having gotten it off of his property.

Here's a few.

OK, so it's got an engine. That makes it worth more than $0, but not much more.

It still isn't worth $600.

It is so sad to have let it go like that. Probably one of those who say they are going to restore it, and this is where it is at.
Looks like the frame must have gave way on the passenger side.
It does have power windows !

Almost not worth the scrap iron, too much rust.

It really is sad. The carb and valve covers are salvageable. The carb would probably be a good core for 49 & 50 models (I am not sure about the 51-52). The valve covers are very collectable. If you can get the power window parts they will have some value even they will have to be rebuilt. Those are pretty rare. They are hydraulic and use the same pump that operates the top. The pump is located inside the left front fender. There is also a valve that changes the top from up to down. The top cylinders could probably be rebuilt also.

I can't really tell, but it does have a different style of brake pedal. i don't think there was any kind of power brake in '49 or somebody along the way, change to something different.
Again a number of things are salvageable, but you need a market for it.
It looks like it may fall apart if you tried to pull it out of it's parking spot. I wonder how many years it has been there.
The whole drive train is there, the engine the trans, the rear gears, the axle's.
I would doubt the engine would turn over. If you had buyer's for what is salvageable, it would be worth it, you need to buy low and sell reasonable.
