12V HEI Source

So I have run my 12v HEI wire from the Ign connector in the block to my HEI, however i am notgetting a full 12V. Is bthere a tolerance that you can be within where it is still ok, or do you absolutely have to have 12V? I was at like 11.64 volts not sure why. When I tested straight from the battery I was over 12. Would the difference between 11.64V and 12V be enough to keep my car from starting?

The voltage drop isn't the reason your car won't start..

Are you saying you removed the resistance wire, pulled the fuse box apart, removed the connector pin and replaced it with a standard wire and still don't have 12V?

Are you getting a spark at the plugs?

You should check voltage at each accessible terminal from the battery through the fuse box, to the distributor, and find out whether you can identify a particular spot where that voltage drop is occurring, then clean around those terminals to correct it.
