69 Cultass S Wiper wiring redo
69 Cultass S Wiper wiring redo
Hi, newbie here
I have a 69 cutlass S when I bought the car the wiper switch was toast & prior owner rigged up a toggle switch under the dash. That just wont do.
I have a new switch. H e rigged a hot wire & a wire direct to the wiper motor. The original plugs are there.
There are 3 male terminals on the motor, he used 2 of them. There is a plug under the dash that connects to the new switch < I don't know if that works yet.
At the wiper motor ( or in the general vicinity) there are two 2 blade female plugs connected together, I assume one is for the washer. There is also another single female plug hanging around the wires are all spray bombed black so its hard to tell what original color was.
Also there is a copper bare wire emanating from the wiper motor with a female connector on the end going to nowhere.
using my service manual, I get the center spade on of the three is the hot. does the 2 prong connector go on the first 2 or last 2 pins? what goes on the other?
Thanks for the help.

Figured it out even old switch works Nice.
for future reference
Power goes to center of wiper motor terminals two outside terminals are ground to switch. with this hookup one speed of the wipers worked( with the washer not hooked up)
the washer power is pass left terminal( pass side) yellow wire
with washer terminal connected have both speeds
