How to multimeter test wiper motor?
How to multimeter test wiper motor?
Hi from New Zealand,
The wipers on my '65 Cutlass are not working and may have stopped working after I had been doing a bit of electrical work. I have metered the circuit and get a switched 10 volts across the earth strap attached to the motor and the single incoming positive wire. As it doesn't look like a wiring fault I want to check the motor itself. When I meter the motor I get an open circuit, shouldn't I be able to pick up the load from the windings or not?
If so what sort of reading should I expect? I have been searching all over the net but nobody advises on test loads on the motors themselves.Very frustrating! Thanks in advance for any help on this,
