Replace fusible link with modern fuse

During engine bay rewiring I also replaced my cables from the battery to the horn relay, the Generator wiring and the fusible link with an inline fuse holder.

Off the top of my head I started with a 60A fuse (battery to horn relay), and last week when I wanted to drive off my garage ramps I shot the fuse, aparently while cranking.

Does anybody have have an estimate/experience what current the original '70 Cutlass Supreme fusible link is "rated", or if this was a one-time blowing fuse, before I start going to 80A or 100A?

Thanks

Ed:

Ground wires are all new, sufficient gage and tested. I can safely say that the starter current is not running through this fuse.

Something is not right. I replaced mine with 10 gauge wire, 30A fuse and it works with no issues. Any time the fuse blows it's sign of a problem.

It's 60A battery to horn relay that blew. My "fusible link replacement fuse" between horn relay and fuse box did not blow.

I don't think you get very far with 30A total when the blower motor off the horn relay is 30A alone?

It's been working just fine. I have done this few months ago.
