I am replacing the radio in my 70 cutlass supreme with a new retrosound model. I have done some searching on the site and couldn't find what I was looking for as what all I need to remove to get at the radio. Could you guys help me out with what I need to remove and how? Thanks

 

Been awhile, but, I beleieve you pull the ***** off, loosen and remove the nuts that were behind the *****, lay on your back with a flash light and look up at the back of the radio for brackets and wiring harnesses to remove from the deck.

 

so I don't need to remove the dash to do this?

There may be some air ducts in the way though.

 

Remove the under dash valience (6-8 screws?). Remove the lower air plenum (2 screws), disconnect a few ducts from it & push them up out of the way. The radio will come out fromt he back. Dash itself stays in. Heck I found that even the heater box will come out with the dash IN!

 

There should be a long, clear plastic strap coming down from the top the dash - this will be attached to the side of the radio housing. Make sure that is disconnected as well.
