Many years ago I disassembled my 1972 Hurst/Olds for restoration. I am trying to reinstall the rear window defrost wiring correctly in the trunk. I have the glass installed and have a wire on each end of the glass hanging down and the purple power wire coming into the trunk by way of the big black wiring trough that runs front to back on the drivers side floorboard. I am interested in learning how the purple wire was run and where the ground wire from the glass was bolted down.
I have an assembly manual and cannot find a picture of how the trunk wiring was run.
I am looking for an assembly manual or service manual picture of this or a picture of somebody's car that has not been messed with or restored correctly with some good pictures of the wiring in this area.
After all the pictures of trunk compartments and the history of electricity all the way back to Ben Franklin and the kite, a friend of mine in Ohio has gone to the trouble to find a car that has never been disassembled and took some really hard to get photos that have finally solved the mystery and tell me EXACTLY how the rear defrost wires were run in the trunk. This was a Lansing build car and sometimes assemblies will vary but this is one example of how one car was originally assembled and I am going with this. The last picture is of my car and where I have finally remembered where the ground wire was attached. I am finally back in business. Onward and Upward.
