Alternator rebuild

Looking to rebuild a 1100777 55 amp. alternator and trying to find parts.
Is this alternator considered a Delco Remy 10DN Alternator?
Any good recommendations for parts vendors?

Thanks,

Yes, that is a 10DN. I use Standard Motor Products parts. Just be sure to use their top line and not the "T-series" line.

You will need a press to install the new diodes. Hammering them in doesn't work so well.......

I replaced the diodes back in the early 90s but I don’t really remember how I got them in. I didn’t have any type of press, so I probably used a hammer and a socket the same size as the OD of the diode body to protect the lead from damage while I tapped it in.

It's a bit far from you, but you might try calling this old school rebuild shop in Glendale, Az. Gary the owner is a very knowledgeable and helpful guy.

I used a socket and a bench vice to press in the diodes, worked well.

correction, it was an old caliper bushing with a slot cut in it for the wire, not a socket.
