Wiper Malfunction

I have a '70 442. The wipers do not work. I replaced the motor with one from "The Parts Place". It swiped once, quit & died. The wipers travel freely when the motor is disconnected from the transmissions. The fuse is intact. Anyone have a clue? I sure as heck don't!

First off, verify you are getting 12 Volts at the wiper motor wire when the switch is turned ON.

Check the ground strap. The grounding path for the wiper motor uses a piece of brass sheet stock going from the motor to the firewall. The end at the motor is sandwiched in the mounting grommet. You need to take apart the sandwich and clean the corrosion off of the strap and metal pieces and reassemble. Be careful when taking the strap apart. It is rather thin.

I have fixed two non working wiper motors doing above.
