Inline fuse holder possibly fubared

The inline fuse for the hi blower has melted itself inside the holder. I can't get this thing out lol. What are my options? Can I buy a fuse holder and cut the two wires and splice it in

something similar to this perhaps?

I would just cut it out and replace it with a fuse holder with the appropriate size wire and fuse. The only way that I would worry about what I replaced it with was if I were doing anything like a concourse restoration, otherwise just repair it.

That type, but doesn't have to be that heavy or a maxi-fuse. Solder and shrink wrap when connecting the wires.

Unless you care about a correct-appearing fuse holder, just replace it. Considering that every other fuse in your car is a glass style fuse, I'd use one of these. I just carry a glass fuse assortment in the glove box.
