Identification of Blue Wire '70 A-Body
There's a loose (one end not connected) blue wire (16-18 gauge) coming out from above the heater core. See pic. The length is about 3 feet with no connector on the end. Looks as if I'd have to remove the heater core to follow where it leads. It does have some glue and insulation residue on it from the under dash insulation pad suggesting it may be original. There was an after-market alarm on the vehicle with shaker box mounted on the engine-side firewall in the location of the wire that has been removed. I cannot identify what the wire is/was for??

Factory wires typically don't go through the insulation pad like that, so I'm leaning towards aftermarket. It would be helpful if you could provide wider angle photos for context. Does the wire wrap into the harness? Does it pass through a firewall grommet? Does the car have A/C?

Thank you for your replies!
I think Yellowstatue has it!
Non-AC convertible with OE stereo radio (now removed). No connector on wire (though likely had a connector). Does not go through firewall. Is not part of, and does not join into any wire harness.
Pretty sure there's a single blue wire under the carpet on the passenger side that runs under the rear seat to the location where the rear speaker facing into the convertible top well was located.
