Original carpet & seatbelt color for 1972 Vista Cruiser: bright blue or medium blue?
A member suggested I start a different thread for different types of questions I have, so I'm sorry if you see a lot of new threads from me.
I have a choice between bright blue or medium blue for a molded carpet kit from auto-interiors (made by Auto Custom Carpets). My interior code is TR993 (front bench seat) which only translates to a blue vinyl interior with a 13 trim code, but no carpet color code or name. Does anyone know what was used for blue in a cutlass or VC in 1972? They are both possible matches with my stained original carpet, but I'd prefer the darker bright blue to the medium blue, if they were both available on a VC.
I'm also trying to find out what kind of seat belt combinations would have been used on the front bench seat. I have the upper shoulder belt portion, but the lap belts were missing on my car. Did they have retractable lap belts with blue webbing and blue plastic on the face of the belt buckles?
Thank you!

Actually they make a "BLUE" which is dark, a "BRIGHT BLUE" and a "MEDIUM BLUE" which i think the Med. blue is to light. The Dark blue i think would apply to the 1970 color blue. And the Bright would apply to the 71-72 Blue. But really it is your choice but if you want something on the darker side check out the "BLUE" . Stockinteriors.com is another good source for carpets.
Front seat belts would be the same as any other a body bench seat. They only had one retractor on each side at the door opening(Floor). The center belts simply came up from the floor through the seat itself, no retractors.

Thank you. I think I will go with the bright blue then because it's dark enough to not get dirty too easy, but still looks nice and is correct for a 1972.
Do you know if the seat belt buckle would have had Blue pebble texture plastic in 1972, like this?
And should the male buckle be shaped like this? They both say they are correct for 1972 VC Oldsmobiles.

Here are some 1970 belts with chrome latches: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-GM-A-Bo...3D401087991666

1972 Vista Cruiser Bench Shoulder Belts
Allan. These are all that's left of my seat belts. It turns out instead opf faded blue they are faded black, so maybe finding replacement lap belts won't be quite as difficult. I'm surprised, since your pictures show colored belts, maybe too fancy for a Vista Cruiser?...
Thanks, Tom
