Blower motor speed inconsistent - g body

The blower motor speed on my d.d. 87 Cutlass varies a lot and the speed drops significantly when the brake pedal is pressed. Any ideas?

What sort of voltage do you have when this is going on? Could be a charging problem, such as a bad rectifier diode.

Don't know yet, I hope to have time to dive into this Saturday. It really seems related to the brake pedal for whatever reason, could be a coincidence.

Not necessarily, the brake lights could be drawing power away from the blower motor... Unplug the brake light switch and see if the blower motor still changes when pressing the brake pedal... Does the issue occur when other electrical items are engaged, head lights, radio etc... If it does, the alternator would be my first suspect...

Its probably voltage fluctuations, see if turning on the headlights do the same thing.

This last week has been crazy! Between wide open busy and an allergy induced sinus infection... I have not touched the car, other than driving them... supposed to go camping this weekend so it will be a bit before I can dig into it. I drove my 70 yesterday and the odometer will hit 140,000 next time out. Gettin high mileage on her... lol.
