Dash lights inconsistent

Hi All,
Good news, my dash lights work.
Bad news, I have to really work the rotating dimming switch on my headlight
pull switch to get it right.
I can rotate the headlight switch one way then the other and find a spot where they will work. But it is very low and when I hit a bump they will shut off.
Do I need a new switch or cleaning? Does anyone have an opin?
Thanks.

A new switch is about $37 from Fusick (Part DS155). I just read this thread where MDchanic says you can try cleaning them too:
