I've been wiring the a/c on my 69 cutlass supreme and with the help of these forums and the factory assembly manual I've determined I'm short a hold in relay. I got it ordered so now my only question is can anyone tell me where the wire on the bottom goes (the top is to the horn relay). It comes out of the A/C relay on the firewall. It may be simple but I can't figure it out.
You'll probably do better using the wiring diagram in the chassis service manual.
Once you figure out how it works you may wish you'd left it out. My cars that have it have had the thing bypassed for years.
Basically once you select an A/C position, it keeps the compressor engaged until you turn the ignition switch off. It can be useful if you want dehumidified conditioned air for defrosting, as you can mash A/C button and then select DEFOG, but I found the compressor staying engaged with no ability to turn it off irritating.
Kickdown wire for the TH400 and Jetaway. It was installed in all harnesses and just tied up out of the way on cars that didn't need it (TH350s and manual transmissions).
