Wiring Harness Vendors: Who's your favorite?

Well, I've finally got everything I need to replace the starter, battery cable etc... but just can't bring myself to reuse the original engine harness. Which vendor do you all prefer for an original style wiring harness, M&H or American Autowire?

I hear AAW is a really good one, and will likely be using them when I get to that point. Rock Auto seems to have good prices on AAW harnesses... cheaper than repro places like Fusick or ILT.

Thumbs up

M&H is the best, hands down.

Customer support is top notch.

M&H and AAW are only $1 apart on the engine harness for my '71 Cutlass. Rock Auto was $20 cheaper than both, how can they be cheaper than the supplier themselves? It it the same original style harness?

Rock Auto buys in such large quantities from their suppliers they get steep discounts which they partly pass on. Seldom have I seen there prices beat

Great service too

I got mine through Year One before I knew where I could get them. They buy from M&H and I was very pleased with the fit of the harnesses.

It would be nice to see some close up pics of some of the harnesses if anyone has any.

So it's a year later and I'm ready to replace my forward lamp harness, but Rock Auto no longer carries any wiring harness from M&H or American Autowire. Are there any suggestions where I can find this wiring harness at a discount?

M&H tech support will go the extra miles to help you fix an issue.

They tracked down a battery cable question for me that no one else could answer.

I have purchased from both M&H and AAW and had zero issues with either. Both were perfect fit, and quality seems top notch...would recommend either..real purty. I did not have to use cust service so don't know about that. Getting ready to get a dash harness so basically will do a coin toss to decide. Since I work near Yr1 will probably let them handle it...they use M&H I think.

One thing to note is once you start with one manufacturer, you may want to stick with them to keep the same style and shades of wire colors. It's a really minor nit, but one that you might care about.

I bought from both and they worked well together. Rock Auto and the Parts Place has the cheapest prices for the wiring.

A little off topic but biggest problem I have is that 67 Olds fuse box not available repo and I have to send in mine as core so car will be down for a while. Just a little pain unless I can find a used one somewhere to send in.

Steven,

Thanks, that was the info I was looking for. Rock Auto used to sell the harnesses cheaper than the manufacturer, and am looking for a similar deal. I'll check out the Parts Place.

Wink So who really makes them??

If you check the part numbers for M&H and AmericanAutoWire they are the same. Just thought this was interesting...

Another Vendor to consider

YNZ wiring. They ALSO use the same part numbers and same price. They are in Ca. The wording on their web page is the same as M&H. Sounds like everybody is using the same manufacturer... IDK

I used Lectric Limited as I think they might actually be the manufacturer for some of the others like AAW.

http://www.lectriclimited.com/

Prices (with multi piece discount) were a bit cheaper than others and when I talked to them it sounded like they were making my harnesses. Harnesses look perfect & the few I've tested so far are 100%...

AAW makes all of their stuff in house. I think they also make harnesses for Speedway Motors and Summit as neither wanted to confirm or deny when I asked who makes their brand of electrical.
