It's a tie for me: "One Piece at a Time" by Johnny Cash, and "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" by Jan & Dean.

"she's gonna get a ticket now, sooner or later
'cause she can't keep her foot off the accelerator"

Mine, it's kinda hard to determine which I like the best.

I'd have to say Survival of the Sickest

She told me I am the first person she has signed 455 valve covers for!

Ragtop Deluxe by Molly Hatchet is a fun one. Don't think it's my favorite though.

My favorite car song is "Rocket 88". Bill Haley and the Comets recorded it in the early 50's and made this song somewhat famous. Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats originally recorded/wrote it in 1951. The lyrics are below:

"ROCKET 88"
You may have heard of jalopies,
You heard the noise they make,
Let me introduce you to my Rocket '88.
Yes it's great, just won't wait,
Everybody likes my Rocket '88.
Gals will ride in style,
Moving all along.

V-8 motor and this modern design,
My convertible top and the gals don't mind
Sporting with me, riding all around town for joy.
Blow your horn, Rocket, blow your horn

Step in my Rocket and a don't be late,
We're pulling out about a half past eight.
Going on the corner and a having some fun,
Taking my Rocket on a long, hot run.
Ooh, going out,
Oozing and cruising along.

Now that you've ridden in my Rocket '88,
I'll be around every night about eight.
You know it's great, don't be late,
Everybody likes my Rocket '88.
Gals will ride in style,
Moving all along.

Some think this was the first rock and roll song written.
Who really knows

Easy.

"Beep Beep" by the Playmates. 1958.

It has the best closing line: "Hey buddy, can you tell me how to get this car out....of....sec...ond...geeeaaarrr!"

Radar Love for a "driving" song.My favourite "car" song would Little Deuce Coupe,Dead Man's Curve, or Little GTO.There isn't much "modern" music that I like, so I usually listen to "oldies" on WOMC out of Detroit.(I listened a lot more when "Tom Ryan and Matinee Mindy" were still DJ-ing!)

My understanding is Ike Turner wrote the tune, but gave the credits to Brenston, who he was with at the time.

Be About Yo Paper by The Click

"And I was hittin me one
No matter the cost
A fo-fo-two wit tha dual exhaust
With so much rumble n the back on my load
I hit the parkin lot 'n watch convertibles fold"

back when i was age 16-19 I listened to rap music, this was a hit from The Click, special meaning since it mentioned my car in it. Don't search for and listen to this song if you are offended by explicit lyrics cause this song has them.

Not a car song but a video, Do you guys remeber Chicagos stay the night video from the 80s?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BCoBRBUbOw
The song sucks but the chick and the car did it for me This video is the reason I became an Olds fan, my first car was a '70 442, all my friends were driving Chevelles and camaros. Married a bruntte and I still beat on an OLDS!!!
