Fuse is good? Ignition switch in ON or RUN?

Try unplugging the connector at the wiper motor and clean the contacts a little, and make sure the grounding is in place.

I hop it's not the switch, b/c IIRC the wiper switch on a 62 is a little hateful to remove. The panel the switch is in, and the LH windshield garnish moulding have to come off.

See if you can take the **** off and spray some contact cleaner in it before you go thru all that. Should be a set screw holding it on. You may be able to get a nozzle in there without taking the **** off. Spray it in between the shaft and the housing.

I expect it's from lack of use as much as anything.

I have this problem with my 62 starfire as well. I cleaned the contacts yesterday...still nothing. I do hear the relay kicking in when I push the washer button though. I am still kind of new to all of this. When you say make sure the grounding is in place.. what am I looking for?? I think bad grounds are also causing problems for the radio and clock. I am replacing all my bulbs with new ones..so if they don't work there is a problem somewhere else.

On my 63 Starfire the wipers did not work, turned out that the wiper spindles were ceased from lack of use. Disconnected the wiper motor and sprayed wd40 on them and all the linkage joints. Slowly worked on it until they were free then used spray grease on them. Totally fine now.

You mean "seized," right? As in stuck solid?

I ended up buying a 2 speed wiper switch with washer for an impala. The switch looks exactly the same. I plan on installing it maybe tomorrow and I hope this solves one of my few problems I have.

I installed my new switch, but my battery ended up taking a dump on me. So I am not sure if my new wiper switch works or not. I did noticed the connections were reversed so I may need to flip the wire connector around but other than that, it is a perfect fit and looks like the switch I took out.

I should have updated this post sooner. After I messed around under the dash I found a plug that was not connected. Also, I was putting a new light bulb in the console for the shift indicator and checked the wire connections down there.. Low and behold..... the wipers, radio, and clock all worked just fine! The impala switch did work, but the speeds were revered. I put my old olds switch back in, and it also worked so I just used that.

Great to hear you got the problem solved. Me on the other hand would probably just coat the windshield with Rain-X. It works great.

I just need to find some wiper blades. The arms are the orig ones but the blades are plastic and need replaced. I think I have to order them. I wasn't sure my wipers were working right at first since they keep going after you turn them off for a little while. I just need to prime the washer hose and see if the washers work too.. I am just glad I got things working without having to get them rebuilt for once.
