my wipers just stopped working

sitting in the drive thru at the bank this morning, and the wipers just stopped in 85 delta 88.

they didnt return to the end, they just stopped working.

is the stalk bad in the column or is my wiper motor shot?

my turn signals work fine.

for the last few months,my windshield washer wouldn't work, but when i ran the wipers in a bad storm, all of sudden the washers would come on for no reason.

I assume you checked the wiper fuse? This happened on my 84 a while ago. Turns out one of the wires to the motor had been pinched and shorting. It could also be the motor itself, or the switch, or the wiring in between.

After fuse checking, try probing for voltage out at the motor connector. You have a wiring diag?
This can help narrow it down between motor and switch.
The washers are somewhat independent and fail often (my experience).
