Cool What the heck is this thing!?

I have two or three of these tucked under the lower dash on my 69 442. Does anyone what this is and what it is supposed to do? I looked in the assembly manual but couldn't find any reference to help me.

They are dash lights. I know one should be fastened to the headlight switch. Not a real bright light, but enough that you can see the headlight **** at night. John

Thanks John! How and where do these attach? I hate to sound ignorant, but do these attach on the backside of the dash to the headlight switch?

Yes, the one for the headlight switch attaches to the back right above the headlight switch. I know with the 1970-72 there's a small hole right above the **** you pull where the light shines down onto the ****.

I'm going to check my photobucket site to see if I've got a picture that shows it installed. John

I just skimmed through some pictures and I may be wrong about the headlight switch. I know the 1970-72 had one of these, but the 1969 may not have. Possibley ash tray or heater fan switch... I think I've got a 1968-69 dash in the garage with the harness still attached. If nobody else comes up with the details I can try to dig that out tomorrow afternoon and take some pictures. John

Thanks John. I think one light may be for the ash tray since it is right at that area. The light on the drivers side must be for either the headlights or the windshield wipers?

Yes, ashtray had one, too, as well as factory radio for the dial light. However I do not think the radio had the bullet shape - just an open metal tube.

The light for the drivers side was for the cruise control that was added later. The light is wired into the cruise control harness. Thanks for the help guys.
