Top post battery cable ends

What is everyone running for battery cable ends? I have a set that you find in the parts stores. The neg cable is loose because the connector is wider at the bottom that at the top of the terminal. So I want something that is snug all the time. Any help appreciated.

I think most of us use the terminals with the bolt at the end. The cable terminals are tapered to fit on the battery terminal which is also tapered. There are 2 different sizes of cable terminals based on whether it is for Pos or Neg, with the Pos being the larger of the two. You might check to see if your neg cable has the larger hole, like the pos one.

Those will work, but you want to make sure that you get the battery terminals and the cable end terminal shiny clean before putting it all back together. Lead is not a great conductor and you want to be able to pass all the juice you can.

Be careful with replacement ends. They are many times the place corrosion sets in and increases resistance and decreases starting power. Replacing the whole cable is also an alternative to consider.

You can remove the bolt and grind some of the metal out of the gap. That will allow it to clamp tighter until you find a replacement.
