TH400 kickdown switch replacement

My lack of 'passing gear' (and my test light confirmation) tells me my kickdown switch (on the gas pedal) has stopped working. They are readily available as reproductions. My question is, aside from originality, is there any reason not to think a repop would be fine or should I pay more for an NOS one? Any preference in repop replacement? I just don't want to pay a lot of money for a 40 year-old NOS one that will stop working next week.

I have a box of them. I'll test one before I ship, $18.00 shipped for one?

A good used one will probably outlast the car. Are you sure it's not just out of adjustment- if you manually activate it, there is still no output? It is getting input, not a blown fuse?
