Temp gauge and sensor question.

Temp gauge and sensor question.
Hi. I have a set of aftermarket Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges in my 70 Delta 88. the Temp sensor became disconnected (rusted off) just trying to get some info cause I've never had aftermarket gauges. I know I cant buy a stock sensor to replace it cause the stock sensors are designed for just the dash Light I assume. I found an "electrical temp sensor" that looks the same but has a bolt on top, at the local auto parts store. just wondering if it would work to just replace that smaller bolt sensor piece that broke off. also the wire is awfully thick/ stiff . but I'm pretty sure is the same one that goes into the gauge in the car. just wondering if I got the new sensor and wired this up if it would work, or if I'm totally off about this. also the line for the oil pressure gauge has spots with oil stuck in it. should I replace this too? thanks guys.

Its not a wire its a bourdon tube and although I've never tried, I don't think you can change it easily to repair the gauge. There are companies that do repair gauges but its probably easier and less expensive to buy a new one. As for the oil pressure gauge, what your seeing is normal and nothing to worry about.

Agree with the above.
The Bourdon tube is broken so your gauge is ruined and it's time to buy a new one.
The oil pressure gauge will have areas of oil and other areas of air, which is completely normal.
