A team performance 21 circuit harness block mount on 68 442

While running the wires through the car and trying to figure out the mounting situation for the fuse block I realized with the extended mount tabs in the aftermarket fuse block, there’s about a 1 inch gap off the firewall where the OEM block mounted directly to the firewall. Anyone with suggestions or experience with mounting one of these on their car on how to mount it and keep it sealed between the engine bay and the interior? Any help is appreciated.

I'm assuming you'll need to fabricate a plate to cover the old hole/s and then make a feed through for the wires that feed through the firewall.

After doing some research it sounds like that’s not an uncommon thing when putting in new wiring harnesses. I’ll get some measurements and get it in there. Thanks for the added input.
