Stumped on turn signal issue

1991 Olds 88. Just had a new ac compressor put on. Picked it up and first day back left turn signal will not blink. Replaced marker bulb and parking light bulb. No luck. Checked fuse for turn signals, fuse is fine. Regardless of the headlights being on or off the left signal will NOT blink. After return of the car from my mechanic the trim cover is missing from the actual steering column (surrounding the turn signal arm). There is a lone cluster of wires not attached to anything. However, I don't see where they would even connect to if in fact something is loose.

Thanks.

I had this happen before, check your turn signal switch connections.

That "lone cluster of wires not attached to anything" is suspect.

You can always take it back to the mechanic who did the work.

Good Luck
