1967 Delmont 88 425 2 door hardtop with factory air conditioning. Pulled fuel tank and removed sending unit, removed sock and cover, per shop manual. What are the specifications for the resistor board on the sending unit. Have been working, off and on, in trying to get fuel gage to read correctly. Indicator on the gage reads way past full, have cleaned all the grounds, I could find. even checked the grounds for the fuel tank, and I'm stumped. Any advice is appreciated.

You have an open circuit. Do this test, remove the wire from the sender and just leave it hanging with the key on, it will read past full (open circuit). If you ground that same wire it should drive the fuel gauge to E.

The resistor board on the gauge is to dampen the movement.

 

1964-newer GM cars use a 0-90 ohm potentiometer in the sending unit.
