Shielded wire for tachometer
I have another thread in the technical section of this forum titled "Tachometer installation question" that lost interest. I got some good feedback but probably didn't post in the right place anyway.
Here's my problem. I took the tach / clock out to have the clock repaired. I failed to document the placement of each wire or photograph. I figured out most of the wiring from input from others at Classic Oldsmobile. I have searched the site back to about 2006 and found nothing specific about where the shielded wire attaches. Based on input, it is simply a ground and can be grounded anywhere...my question is where was it grounded originally ? did it get fed through the dash / gauge opening and atttached by one of the three screws at the front of the tachometer ? If so does anyone have a photograph of the exact location where this "braided wire" is attached. I would really appreciate any assistance on this.
I have a 1970 442.
Thank you

I figured it out by going page to page in the assembly manual. The pages in my manual are faded so you can barely see the routing of the shielded wire but like someone suggested in another thread, it is there.
The shielded wire shows as being connected to the center upper mounting screw on the heater controls according to the assembly manual.
