sending unit wiring

Hey all,
68 442, conv
So I've installed my new sending unit in the tank and I'm not sure where this wire is connected, is it a ground?
I'm not exactly familiar with how this works as you can tell. Having taken the old tank out I found no wiring on this car.

Please help, Thanks

That is the ground for the sending unit. It attaches to the trunk floor pan brace under the car. You also need a send unit wire that attaches to the gold pin next to the ground. that attaches to the wiring harness in the trunk next to the latch.

Yes that is the ground. I suggest you make sure you have a paint and other substance like undercoating free spot to connect it and use one of those teethy washers under it to get a good bite to ensure a good ground.
