rpm gauge help

Exclamation rpm gauge help

i have a 1972 cutlass s with a 1972 350 rocket with some extras and i am trying to put a sports comp auto meter rpm x1000 and im not sure how to hook it up i have the ground wire grounded and im not too conserd about the white illumination wire but im not sure where to the red and the green go i know that the green wire goes through the firewall and the red has to be connected to a power source that turns on when the car is on but im still not sure any body have any ideas?

not sure of your model but I would think there is an installation sheet?

If not, looks like they have down-loadable material here

The green wire goes to the - on the coil. The red can be hooked to the accy port in the fuse box.

You'll care about the white wire if you ever drive at night.

Red = key-on +12V power
Black = ground
Green = neg (distributor) side of coil or TACH terminal on HEI
White = inst panel light feed (grey wire under the dash)
