relays

Hi All, trying to source some relay switches, without being able to take pics of what needed.
I was told that there are 3 different relays under the hood-69 442 400ci convertible
horn relay-have on order from fusick
convertible top relay-they do not carry, any info on where to find?
i am not sure what other relay is there.
any help appreciated

The convertible top does not have a relay under the hood. It has a circuit breaker under the hood located to the left of the brake booster/ master cylinder on the firewall near the wiring bulkhead connector. The only other relays under the hood in addition to the horn relay would be the high speed fan relay if the car has A/C. 70 would have a lock-in relay for the compressor clutch if the car came with A/C, but 69 may have as well. The high-speed fan relay on an A/C car is located on the firewall. For a non-A/C car you only need to worry about the horn relay and the circuit breaker. Just curious, why do you think these need replaced?

hi, Olds parts call this convertible top relay, think it is same as what you have described,
would the other be the power windows relay?
I have a short under the dash ,result from from the last butcher so having someone else have a go, removing dash to access, and will upgrade some things, he suggested replacing the relays
thx

And, if I'm following along correctly, the circuit breaker depicted should be of the type identified in the 1969 PIM.

The power window relay is fed off of the circuit breaker you have pictured. That circuit breaker feeds the power top, power seat, power windows, and power locks (electric) if the car has them. If the car has power windows, the relay that allows them to work only with the ignition on is located behind the driver side kick panel (basically right behind the parking brake mechanism). Simply replacing relays will most likely not fix any shorts you may have. Is the car blowing fuses? Are things simply not working? is smoke coming out from under the dash? The dash and main wiring harness are not that difficult to pull out. If you have serious electrical problems, the best course of action is probably to remove the dash harness and go through it.
