Rallye pac clock 1967 442

Hello everyone, I am attempting to remove clock from rallye pac, front bezel removed easily enough along with retaining nut on cover however because of the support bar for the steering column behind directly behind it I have been unable to remove the cover, does this have to be removed? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Also any suggestions by way of removing it would be greatly appreciated (if needed) as well. THANKS!

I'd pull the whole cluster. You're a glutton for punishment trying to remove just the clock.

Perhaps I am and you're probably correct, of course that's exactly what I was trying to avoid, the service manual makes it seem so simple! I suppose I may have to go back to the drawing board. THANKS for the input!

I know it's not what you want to hear. I've had my cluster in the 67 out so many times... It needs to come back out again too. I have a 67 rally pac I've been planning on installing for 3 or 4 years now but I can't even get the original cluster working 100% so I haven't attempted it yet and still need some parts for the switch over. Good luck with your car.

Thanks again however can you are anyone else tell me are these gauge nuts to be removed completely to access clock removal? or only loosened as the service manual suggest? Perhaps its
self explanatory given the pic. it just seems odd that it states to loosen the nuts rather than remove them as with some other bolts. Please forgive if it seems like a stupid question, although some might argue there are no stupid questions I only ask because the cluster is still on the car

Tex I appreciate the advice yet I'm at the point of no return.
