rally pack fuel gage

While checking lights in cluster (gage removed) my mistake put 12v on the fuel indicator gage! Then gage showed full, so guess I shorted resistor. How do I replace the resistor and what type resistor do I need. Jim

Have you installed it back in the car. It could still be ok.

I don't know if it is the same or not but when I restore regular fuel gauges, I put 12v. to one side of the gauge & ground the other side to see if it moves, then reverse the leads to check for movement the other way. I'm not sure if you damaged the gauge but maybe try reversing the leads but only touch them for a quick second to see if it moves the other way?
