Hi. Welcome to the forum. I'm new myself. According to my book, with the points open completely, (rubbing block resting on high point of cam) using a flat feeler gauge, set the point openings at 0.019in for new points, 0.016in for used. Run engine to operating temp, set point dwell to 28-32deg. Then set timing to 10 btdc. (14 btdc for w31). Hope this helps. Anything else, let us know. Good ridin'. Jim.

Thanks for the info. I decided to go with the electronic ignition upgrade. I used the Pertronix kit , it worked excellent.
