People amaze me

Ok new guys second post. I started working on my first electrical problem. Gas gauge inop. Had the car one week today. I purchase a sending unit in anticipation of this being the problem. Go for a long drive to empty the freshly filled tank. Get home put the car on jack stands and observe what is next. Ground wire is hooked up. Nothing is rusted. Looks like I will have no problem. I slide around a bit and find the sensor wire. It is wired directly to the tag light. I pop the trunk and low and behold 2 wires snipped just inside. I pull apart the spade connectors hook up the color coded wires and wow gas gauge and tag light. Lol. Again. People amaze me!!!

You might keep an eye on it for a while, makes you wonder why it was tampered with in the first place, that wouldn't be something someone would just do for the hell of it you would think. Maybe a short somewhere else? Just a thought....Tedd

Agree tedd. Looks like someone decided to cut all the wires leading out of the trunk during bumper removal when it was painted. Car is so solid. Really amazed that was done that way. But then again. Full vacuum to the heat riser at all times. Dwell set at 20. Float too low starving for gas. Accelerator pump out of adjustment. Timing off Guess I should be happy. I imagine someone couldn't check the basics and this lead to drivability problems and why it was parked. Either way I'm a happy guy.
