Original Power Cables

I recently acquired a '71 Delta 88 Royale Convertible. She was loved once, but her owner passed away and she's been neglected for some time.

The battery cables are not original, and are of the poorly hand crafted variety and severely corroded. The ACDELCO site says the cables for it are side terminal, but I know that's not right.

Does anybody know the original part number for the cable that would have been on there? If not, do you know the proper length? I'd prefer not to take off the current one until I have a the replacement. If ACDELCO is partially right, the positive one is 65" and the ground is 25".

I don't expect her to ever be a show car unless I win the lottery, but I'd like to use original parts whenever possible.

Welcome to the site. If you have the lengths you can go to the auto parts store and buy the type you prefer whether side or top post. Since its not ever going to be a show car or restored back to 100% original all you need is a serviceable part.

Post some pictures when you get a chance.

+1. Those lengths look right to me. Go get some at the auto parts store.
Should be #2ga for big block, you can get away with #4ga for small block.

My ground wire is #000ga finely stranded welding ground wire.
