I am looking in the 1970 CSM in the electrical section and there are illustrations for all series for Instrument Panel Wiring. However, there are illustrations for Chassis Wiring Harness for B, C, and E body, but none for A-body (pages 12-6 to 12-10).
I am trying to fix the hackery from the P.O. in the '70 Cutlass S.
The question is, where do I find illustrations for the firewall forward chassis wiring for A-body in the CSM?
Especially would like to know where these purple and black wires here go:
Also, the wires in the below picture. What is the BLK, PUR and BLK/ORN striped (w/some sort of boot connector)? Where in the CSM do I find these?
The BLK/ORN comes straight from the A/C relay, so I assume it needs to go to 12V somewhere, but where? See below
The old school CSMs seem to have the electrical stuff all over the manual rather than in one big section like the 80s stuff.
This should be the last of the underhood wiring questions if I get answers to all of these.
Thanks all.
The heavy purple wire near the brake booster should be the START circuit wire from the NSS to the "S" terminal of the starter solenoid. Is that other wire really black? Here's a hint: wipe all wires down with a cloth dampened in lacquer thinner to find the real color. The third photo is the inline fuse holder that feeds the high speed blower relay for A/C. The A/C wiring is in the A/C section, specifically page 1C-12, figure 1C-20. That figure also shows the purple wire in the first photo, which powers the blower motor hidden up under the fender. Is that other wire really black (which would be the motor ground wire) or black with a blue, yellow, or orange stripe? In any case, it's in the CSM.
