LED Dash replacement bulbs

Has anyone changed the dash lights with LED bulbs in a 80's Cutlass. The factory gauge lights are dim at night. Looking to change mine so I can see the gauges easily at night. I want to keep the original gauges but just make the lighting brighter. Thanks

I have used Sylvania brand 194 replacement LED bulbs for that purpose my 83 Malibu, 84 E250 and a 89 Custom Cruiser. All worked great.

Yep, Sylvania 194's also in my '76 Cutlass. Highly recommended, makes a big difference (much easier to see and nice white(slightly blue-ish color, or you can do other colors if you like)
Just keep in mind you can't use the dash dimmer function with LED's. There's a way to get that to work, but I forgot offhand what it was (I just don't touch the dimmer). Hopefully someone else remembers?

If you don't decide to use LED's, I replaced mine with these. They are traditional bulbs but brighter

Some LEDs are dimmable.

I replaced the dash illumination lights, 194's with high intensity LED's, tonight. All I can say is Fantastic! Wow! What a difference!
