internally regulated alt question

The car is a 71 Cutlass with a 350. Can i reuse the original two red power wires coming off the generator that run to the horn relay? Or should I remove them and run a more heavy duty wire?

Unless you went up dramatically on the alternator power rating you should be fine. The wiring should look like this:
