Hot lead help

Hot lead help

HELLO CO , I have a 1970 cutlass S model and im trying to locate a igniton wire I can tap into that puts out 12v for my distributor. Im not sure what color it is. please help me out. it was previously wired to the smaller starter post. would that be ok??

From: Poteau, Ok
Is it points, electronic, HEI?? For points and electronic, its on the plus side of the coil. The other wire runs to the starter from there.

So with a HEI it is ok to to route my wire to the small starter post? Also would a 10g wire be good?? Thanks for the help.
