Heater Control Assembly Cables

Will the heater control assembly cables from any 1968-1972 Olds Cutlass or 442 work on a 1968 Olds Cutlass S? I'm having to replace mine, and a contact of mine has cables from a 1968 442 and a 1969 Cutlass that he can get for me. I just want to make sure they are the same length as the ones in my 1968 Olds Cutlass S.

First, assuming both are heater-only cars, then the 68-69 cables are definitely identical. The 70-72 cables SHOULD be the same, but the control heads are slightly different, so I can't guarantee that.

Thanks. Yes, they are both heater only cars.

Check with a NAPA store. They used to make cables. Just take your old cables to them and they'll build what you need.

The factory cables have plastic sheaths that sometimes have molded ends that fit into brackets. NAPA can't make those.

1969 Cutlass temperature control cable length?

My 69 Cutlass is missing the temperature control cable that goes from the right side top of the heater box to the heater control slide. I purchased one that was supposed to be for this specific application, but it is too short (approx. 18 inches). Is there anyone out there that can measure an existing one for me, or does anyone have an old one for sale. The book says it is the temperature control cable - white tab.
