ground for front window
I don't believe the 72 has that ground feature you're talking about. Are you thinking of the u shaped spring that was used on earlier models to make contact with the hood and cowl?
i remember taking it off and i have kept every part to ensure I got the right thing if it needed to be replaced. It goes from the cowl to the window it is the ground for the antena inside the windshield. i just can't remember how it goes, it has been a few years and i can't tell on my pictures i took they are to far away.
That shouldn't be an issue at all. All the 72 A bodies had the wind shield antennas (there was an optional non antenna wind shield for cars without radios though). That clip is not essential and I'm positive (have to check the AM) it was deleted during 1970 production. My 72 does not have that, but does have the static and distributor resistor to reduce/eliminate whine or static.
