Generator light on after Alternator swap

Hey Guys! I just installed a Load Boss 135 Amp Alternator on my 1970 Cutlass Convertible. I felt the old one was starting to go, and not enough power for aftermarket sound system. Now my GEN light is on, and battery doesn't seem to be charging. I turn the key and my batt seems drained. I trickle charged it, and it fires on the first crank. Any thoughts? Voltage Reg? Any suggestions would help.

Since you just changed the alternator did you install it correctly?

YEP, FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. IT WAS SIMPLE PLUG AND PLAY INSTALL, SO UNLESS IT FRIED THE VOLTAGE REG., I'M
NOT SURE WHAT IT IS. MY LOCAL MUSCLE CAR GARAGE IS LOOKING AT IT TOMORROW, SO I MAY GET AN ANSWER THEN. UNTIL THEN, ANY IDEAS?

Try a 168 bulb in your dash light. It's higher resistance aids in exciting the alternator to tell it to charge.

Start from the beginning. Your 70 should have had an external regulator stock. Your 135 amp alternator is an internal regulator? Unless the car had been converted to internal regulator previously, there was more wiring to change than just plugging the alternator in. Also, is this a one wire or three wire alternator?
